Should I lower my thermostat when I leave the house in the morning?
Yes! If you are going to be away for more than 6 hours you should lower the temperature on your thermostat down to 60 degrees. If you tend to forget to turn the temperature down every day when you leave, you should install programmable thermostats. You can set them to adjust the temperature in your home every day when you leave, and about 30 minutes before you get home and before you wake up in the morning. No more bitter cold greetings when you come home or get out of bed! And what’s more is that people who use programmable thermostats also enjoy the benefits of less oil consumption which means more money for you.
Is there an advantage in spending money on a service contract?
Most definitely. When you purchase our service contract, not only are the parts that fail the most, year after year, due to normal wear and tear covered, but so is your annual tune-up of your heating equipment. This will make it run properly and efficiently, and as a result burn less fuel. With a properly-maintained unit, breakdowns are less likely, too.
